Ler em portuguêsRacha splits the bill among the people at the table: it reads the receipt, separates the items, works out who owes what and generates the Pix code (Brazil’s instant payment system) for each settlement. Racha is a product of Works2DEV, the controller of the data described here under Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (Law No. 13,709/2018 — LGPD).
Summary
- There is no server. Racha has no account, no login and no cloud. Works2DEV does not receive your bills’ data.
- Everything stays on your device. In a session, bill data is exchanged directly between the devices at the table, over a proximity connection.
- Receipt reading (OCR) happens on the device itself.
- Racha never moves money. It builds the Pix copy-and-paste code; you make the payment in your banking app.
- No ads, no trackers, no selling of data.
What data exists
Kept in the device’s local database:
| Data | Detail |
|---|---|
| People | Name or nickname of whoever takes part in the bills |
| Payment details (optional) | Pix key, account holder’s full name and city. Asked for only when a person ends up being owed money, because the Pix standard requires these fields |
| Bills and expenses | Items, amounts, fees, who had what, and what was settled |
| Session history | The log of each session’s events, so the bill can be rebuilt if someone drops out |
| Device name | Brand and model (or the name you gave your device), used to identify you in the session |
Receipt photos are used only to read the items.
Device permissions
| Permission | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Camera | Read the invite or bill QR code and photograph the receipt |
| Photos / gallery | Pick a receipt photo you already took, if you prefer |
| Bluetooth and Wi-Fi | Create the session with nearby devices (Android) |
| Location | Required by Android to discover nearby devices over Bluetooth/Wi-Fi. Racha does not read, store or send your location |
| Nearby Wi-Fi devices | Same reason, on newer Android versions |
| NFC | Join a session by tapping phones together, where available |
You can deny any permission. The related feature stops working, but manual splitting remains available.
What is exchanged between devices
When you create or join a session, the connected devices exchange the data of that bill: names at the table, items, amounts and selections. The exchange is direct, over Google’s proximity connection technology (Nearby Connections), without going through Works2DEV servers. Each participant keeps a copy of the bill on their own device.
Contacts you saved and other people’s payment details are not sent to the session. A settlement’s Pix code is shown or shared only when you choose to.
Third-party components on the device
Racha uses Google components that run on the device: ML Kit, to recognize the receipt text, and Nearby Connections, for the proximity link. They rely on Google Play Services, which may download models and log technical performance metrics under Google’s Privacy Policy. Receipt content is processed on the device.
When you share a summary or a Pix code through the system share sheet (WhatsApp, e-mail, etc.), that content becomes subject to the rules of whoever receives it.
Purposes and legal basis
Data is processed on your device to split the bill and record settlements, which is the service you asked for (performance of contract, LGPD art. 7, V). Other people’s details that you enter, such as their name and Pix key, should be entered with their knowledge.
How long
Until you delete it: deleting a bill or a person, or uninstalling the app, removes the data from the device, except whatever is in system backups (iCloud or Google), depending on your device settings.
Security
Data is kept in the app’s private area, protected by the operating system. The link between devices is local and exists only while the session is open.
Children
Racha is not directed at children under 13.
Your rights
You exercise your LGPD rights (art. 18) directly in the app, because that’s where the data is: view, correct and delete it. Since Works2DEV doesn’t receive your bills’ data, we cannot access or recover it. Questions: privacidade@works2dev.com.br. You may also lodge a complaint with Brazil’s data protection authority (ANPD).
Changes
If Racha ever starts using a server or processing new data, this policy will be updated before the change, and we will let you know in the app.
